The Wenatchee School District aims to ensure that school sites remain focused on education rather than promoting commercial activity. However, permitting some advertising or other corporate sponsorships may offer the district an opportunity to gain revenue that directly benefits students.   

Advertising or corporate sponsorships shall not distract from learning. Advertising will only be permitted on high school athletic venues, which are locations where interscholastic athletic competitions are held. With the exception of advertising placed on athletic venue scoreboards, advertising on athletic venues in school buildings, e.g., gymnasiums, is only permitted to be visible during interscholastic athletic competitions.

Advertising space is available in designated areas of the following Wenatchee School District athletic facilities. Space may be limited, and some signage in outdoor facilities may only be displayed during athletic seasons.

Rules and Regulations
Permission by the district for commercial advertising is not and should not be construed as an endorsement of the business or its product or services or as an exclusive agreement.

The district’s acceptance of limited advertising for commercial purposes does not provide or create a public forum for expressive activities. In keeping with its proprietary function as a provider of public education, the district’s acceptance of any advertising does not convert its facilities or resources into open public forums for public discourse and debate. Rather, the district’s fundamental purpose is to accept advertising as an additional means of generating revenue to support its educational operations. Therefore, the district retains exclusive control over advertising permitted on its property or that uses district resources and has the right to remove advertisements at any time.

All advertising or corporate sponsorships must comply with current District policies, procedures, and practices. The District has the right to determine the location of advertising placement and has the right to refuse advertisements that could be viewed as offensive, inappropriate, harmful to public education, or divert resources from public education. In addition, advertising or corporate sponsorship that contains the following is prohibited: 

  • Alcohol, cannabis, e-cigarette, tobacco, or vaping products;
  • Discriminatory material directed at a person or group who is protected under federal or state law;
  • Disruptive or harmful to public education subject matter;
  • False, deceptive, or misleading material, or material that would constitute a tort of defamation or invasion of privacy;
  • Illegal activity, including promotion of an activity or product that is illegal under local, state, or federal law;
  • Indecent, obscene, profane, or violent subject matter;
  • Infringement on copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws;
  • Issue-oriented advertisements;
  • Political advertising, defined as advertising promoting or opposing: a candidate; a group of candidates; a political party; an initiative; a referendum; or other ballot measure, regardless of whether at the federal, state, or local level, and including school boards;
  • Religious subject matter;
  • Sexual subject matter that is objectionable under contemporary community standards;
  • Weapons, including all firearms, and including ads promoting or soliciting the sale, rental, distribution, or availability of any weapon or related products.

Purchasing Advertising Space 
The Wenatchee Panther Athletics logo features a purple panther with sharp claws.The Wenatchee High School Panther Athletics Booster Club is authorized to sell advertising space in approved and designated areas. All advertising space purchases will go through the WHS Panther Athletic Booster Club. Contact the WHS Panther Athletics Booster Club at whspbc.president@gmail.com for the advertising applications, pricing, and signage specifications. Space may be limited and based on availability.

Revenues from District athletic venue advertising will be equitably distributed among Wenatchee High School Athletic programs through the Booster Club to help fund additional equipment, awards programs, and other athletic team expenses.
